St. Brigid's Food Pantry - What They Do

• The pantry operates every Monday and Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., located at 300 Broadway, Long Branch NJ 07740.

• It provides a “client-choice” self-serve grocery pantry, allowing individuals and families to select what they need, rather than receiving a pre-packed box.

• They also offer a carry-out hot lunch — balanced, nutritious meals including meat, poultry or fish, vegetables, and a starch. Prep starts early (around 6:30 a.m.) to ensure meals are ready by lunch service.

• Beyond food, the pantry offers additional support:

  • Help with enrolling in food-assistance programs such as SNAP.

  • Nutritional counseling and cooking demonstrations — thanks to partnerships with regional health organizations.

  • Occasional holiday meals (e.g., a full Thanksgiving dinner for clients) and special distributions — in partnership with local fire departments and other community stakeholders.

• Over time, demand has grown substantially: as of 2024, the pantry — together with its hot-meal program — was serving about 3,000 people per month.
